Mount Mera Peak is a mountain in the Himalayas, located between Nepal and Tibet. It is the highest peak of the Mahalangur section of the Himalayas, and also the highest trekking peak of Nepal. Mera Peak is known for its scenic beauty. The peak lies at an altitude of 6,476 m (21,246 feet) and has a summit complex called “The Castle,” which is a popular destination for trekkers. The trek to Mera Peak can be challenging because of its high altitude and steep ascent. It takes about 6-8 days to complete the trek, including acclimatization days.
Mount Mera was first climbed on May 26th, 1954 by an Austrian expedition led by Kurt Diemberger and Heinrich Harrer. The expedition took fifteen days to reach the summit from Base Camp at 5300m. Mera peak climbing is a moderately difficult trek with a high degree of technicality and risk involved. Mera Peak climbing is considered as one of the moderate difficult peaks to climb because of its steepness, length and difficulty in finding a route up to the top. It takes you about 17 days to climb this peak if you are an experienced climber. If you are not an experienced climber then it will take you more than 20 days to reach the summit.
